Municipio
The Municipio initiative was launched by the City of Helsingborg. Since 2017, over 20 municipalities, municipal companies, and government agencies have adopted the platform. Designed for the public sector but suitable for a wide range of organizations, Municipio is built on open-source software and carries no license fees.
Plugins, themes & modules
The foundation of Municipio is built on WordPress, the world’s most widely used CMS tool. With around 40 plugins, several ready-made themes, and modules for common editorial needs, most of what you might need is already included. It’s easy to remove or add features according to your needs.
Build pages with ready-made modules
Municipio includes ready-made blocks and modules for common needs, such as forms, images, displaying opening hours, operational information, contact details, and more. If you change the content in a module, all pages where it is used are updated automatically.
Design that conveys the right emotions
With Municipio, you don’t need a developer to adapt your installation to your brand. All colors and styles can be configured through the customizer.
Accessibility and usability
With Municipio as the foundation, it becomes easier to do things right. The platform has been both usability tested and accessibility adapted (according to WCAG 2.1 Level AA).
Open and license-free
Municipio is licensed under the MIT license. This license means the code is free for anyone to use at no cost. It also means that everyone can contribute new features!
