The Municipio core team is pleased to announce the release of version 4.0.1. This update is primarily focused on addressing accessibility concerns, following a comprehensive review conducted by DIGG (The Swedish Agency for Digital Government).

Key improvements in this release include:

• Enhanced icon usage: Decorative icons are now excluded from screen reader output, improving accessibility for visually impaired users.
• Improved semantic structure: The search result page now includes a mandatory <h1> tag, enhancing navigation for all users.
• Form validation: Field validation is now triggered on key-up events, enabling tab navigation and submission for users relying on keyboard navigation.
• Clearer focus indication: A fix for invisible :focus states ensures clear identification of interactive elements.
• Language selection: The language selector dynamically adjusts labels based on the user’s browser language, enhancing usability.
• Enhanced SEO capabilities: Language selector items now include language information and nofollow references.
• Improved icon clarity: Search icons now feature visible labels, enhancing clarity and usability.
• Accurate image descriptions: Image description fields now source information from image metadata, ensuring accuracy.
• Icons: Custom icons may be added seamlessly in the icons library (by using svgs). A basic set of social media icons is implemented.
